They created a great buzz and talking point amongst staff and customers who were all very surprised at the talent of all students.  Leonard Murphy from Carrigaline school won the Brooks staff award.

  • Brooks Cork To The Rescue

This Winter, Ireland was hit with some of the worst storms of all times, the majority of the country was flooded, trees fell down and houses destroyed. Cork was one of the worst hit areas for flooding and we really wanted to try to help the local community out. So on the 14th of February 2014, Brooks in Cork set out with a truck to supply all the retailers in Cork with sand bags to stop their shops from flooding any further. Retailers came out in force to receive their free sand bags and were very grateful, it filled us with joy to know that we had came to the rescue and performed a good deed.

  • Dublin Region Floor Sale

On the 25th and 26th of January 2014, the three Dublin branch’s, Glasnevin, Sandyford and Bluebell had a huge flooring sale. It was the biggest sale we have had in a long time and a lot of thought and effort went into it. It was also the first time in history we had ever opened on a Sunday.

In the days leading up to the sale, we had radio advertisements, emails sent out, flyers and much more to try and spread the word and by 9 o clock on the 25th we knew all out hard work advertising had been successful as there was people queuing outside to get in. People raced into the shop and with offers like 50% of Junckers and other branded hardwood flooring, who could blame them. Our poor flooring staff were run off their feet for the whole two days. But they enjoyed every second of it as this made us realise that finally our economy was picking up.

It was such a success that they are planning on having more flooring sales in other regions, like Cork etc. And I’m sure there will be plenty more sales as well as out monthly offers in the future. So watch this space for a sale near you.

  • Bluebell Open Day……A Huge Success

On the 24th of January 2014, a day before we were due to have our HUGE flooring sale, Bluebell had an open day. The idea was to get our customers to come in and have a chat about the products and see what new products there were available to them. The place was packed with suppliers indoors and outdoors. Indoors we had suppliers from Contech, Ballytherm, Tucks to name but a few. And outdoors we had Dewalt, Velux and Henley stoves which had an outstanding display of a lit stove right inside their very own custom van. It was an incredible sight to see. And that was not the only incredible attraction; one of our customers had built a wooden motor bike and so kindly let us display it. The most amazing thing about the bike was it was fully functioning; it just goes to show how versatile wood and timber can be.

And how did we entice these lovely people in…. breakfast rolls of course. Between the times of 8.30-11 we offered free breakfast rolls, tea/coffee and biscuits so that they could get their fill whilst talking to each of the reps. Some of the suppliers were even clever enough to give away free items such as t-shirts, hats and products to test and try.

All in all the bluebell was a great success for the branch and such an up lifting day to see the place so full and a-buzz with builders and public a-like.
